Applications in the vehicle industry:
Machinery and miscellaneous applications:
Gas struts are pneumatically actuated, virtually maintenance free energy reservoirs. Pressure is generated by compressed nitrogen inside the cylinder with a maximum pressure of 160 bar unloaded. Whenever a flap is closed, the piston is pushed further into the cylinder which leads to a progressive increase in pressure. When the flap is opened the compressed gas pushes the piston rod outwards thus facilitating the opening operation and holding the flap in place.
- Boot lids
- Bonnets
- Stowage compartment flaps
- Loading flaps
- Ventilator windows
Machinery and miscellaneous applications:
- Machine shrouds
- Any kind of flap
- Handling gear
- Packing machines
- Hatches
- Work tables
- Awnings
